Nothing new to see stylistically. Most of that stuff has been appearing on European hatches for years -- the hidden door handles were on the Alfa 147 8 years ago (and the 156 before that!). nederina I do hope that you realize Hybrids and Series Electric Hybrids are the way of the future if you like it or not. As far as your "a Lexus hs250 hatchback - which is in fact a Prius, and a Prius is in fact a corolla." comment is concerned I also hope you realize the Lexus HS 250h has nothing other than the Hybrid synergy drive in common with a Prius and also that the Prius has NOTHING at all in common with the Corolla. Big car companies of course do a lot of platform sharing/cost cutting but frankly you’re just reaching....... if only they would produce something that looks like this sketch. the only production lexus i remember thinking was a fantastic looking car was the is200! still looks very modern today. the rest of the lexus range up till date has been a tad dissapointing in the looks department. Engineers designed the five-door as part of their ongoing design method, L-finesse. As part of the exterior design, the car uses concealed door handles and blacked-out B-pillars to give the concept a smoother look and feel. The design team attempted to convey a powerful look by using a steep windshield, and a new grille set into a wide bumper. The wide stance incorporates air intakes to keep brake temperature down. Meanwhile, the long roofline shows just how much room is available for passengers and cargo. Similar to a Renault Megane five-door, the roofline hangs over the rear window to create a spoiler. At 4,300mm, the vehicle is five millimeters longer than the five-door Megane, but its 1,790mm width is 18 mm thinner than the Megane model.

Inside, the car uses a dash with an asymmetrical shape, and includes a new feature called "Remote Touch." This system works like a touchpad, or even a mouse, to let the driver choose from a wide variety of data and gauges. This eliminates "distracting instrumentation and switchgear," so the driver can focus on driving. Aiding in this, is a wide steering wheel, paddle-shifters, and a host of ergonomic features. Being a hybrid, the car uses Lexus' blue badging and lighting inside and out.

The type of fuel used, power figures, and economy numbers were not released. We do know that the Lexus LF-Ch Concept will be capable of running on batteries alone, but the range is not known. Hopefully, Lexus will release more details at next week's Frankfurt Motor Show.

I like it very much. You really wonder why someone hasn't long ago designed something like this: a 21st century Triumph Tiger. Even missing one spark plug this 1200 Scrambler would probably make an XR1200 look like it was in reverse. This bike would kick butt on pavement w/ good street rubber. Moto Morini realizes it can take some profit from custom parts as well as the main machine. So for those for whom a high-mount twin-tapered silencer, a large round headlight crowned by a mini fairing, and 19" front/17" rear wheels shod with Michelin Anakee2 hybrid tires is not enough, they can add factory fit items to make it appear even more purposeful and protect it off-road. These include black steel grills to protect the front headlight and an alloy skid plate that covers the exhaust down pipe. In addition, for the really authentic competition/adventure look, is a plastic race number holder.

2010 Honda NT700V Touring First Look

want something lighter, more economical, and more practical for every day use than a Goldwing. I owned a 1988 Goldwing and loved it for long trips but found I didn't ride it often due to bulk for every day use. But I want to be able to take that occaisional long multi day trip through country that the Goldwing excells at. I tried a V-Strom 650 and it was nice but thought I gave up a little to much in the long haul comfort and convenience areas.

I've been looking for a comfortable mc that is great around town, can hop over a curb if necessary, has good storage capacity and wind protection, and will cruise smoothely two up at 78 mph all day long. I also want low maintenance features like shaft drive, self adjusting or long intervals between adjustments on valves.

And the motorcycle needs to get around 60 miles per gallon. Economy is what brought many of us to motorcycling back in the 1970's and the fun factor kept us there. I'm willing to give up super acceleration and top speed. Acceleration times from 0 to 60 in eight seconds and top speeds around 100 mph are more than enough for me.

I don't know that the NT700V is what I'm looking for but I've been eyeing the Deauville on the internet in Europe for a few years and would like to check it out. I'm keeping hope alive for that one motorcyle that will do everything.

Rode one and it totally stinkkkks, so heavy most folks will drop it a few times. Lock was hard to get key in and turn, bag on my rental fell open. It's like an underpowered Pacific Coast which is around on the used market for 1/3 the price but twice the bike. If your in the marked for a VT700 then check out the PC800. A much much better bike that I see selling for around 3500. I have a PC and love it and it's going strong for over 20 years with zero issues or maintains needed. The Deauville IMHO su (c) K S , hope that got around censor programs save your money. If you want a new ride I guess the 750 Shadow is a choice if you wanna stay Honda. I say another amen to the 1200 VFR with shaft drive, yeah buddy, bring that to the showroom floor and I'm there. Honda’s linked combined braking system (CBS) brings the new design to a halt. The three-disc arrangement places dual 296mm rotors in the front, pinched by three-piston calipers, with a single 276mm disc and three-piston caliper in the rear. The braking can be upgraded to Honda’s full ABS system.

The chassis features a front 41mm fork with 4.5 inches of travel and a rear shock with 4.8 inches travel. Only the shock is listed as being adjustable, with a remote preload adjustment nob dialing in settings for the extra lbs a touring bike needs to carry. Honda’s claimed curb weight for the NT700V is 566 lbs for the standard models and 571 lbs for the ABS unit.

Model: NT700V / NT700VA ABS

Capable of solo jaunts or two-up travel, now there is another touring option from the folks at Honda - the NT700V.Engine Type: 680cc liquid-cooled 52° V-Twin

From a tech perspective, very nice and the interior is beautiful. However I have never liked Acuras due to their long front overhangs. Hopefully Acura can get this right. An interesting conceptWell IMO you have to look squarely at Government Regulators for "Safety", particularly in and FOR the USA as it is the largest car market, so what the US wants it gets and so does the rest of the world!.. I guess you know that from the start MY2003 (for memory) all new cars not already in production had to have the following, a 3 inch "AIR" gap between Hood and engine, then a huge gap between the passengers head and top roof or windscreen rail (so they won't hit their precious head IF THE HAVE NO SEAT BELT ON!!), I am serious this is now a design rule, the next is MY2011 and rear end crash requirements, bigger and thicker looking rear ends, look at the 2010 Mazda 3 sedan and new KIA's to get an idea. SO, given that as a designer you have to have this tall Hood, A pillar and now C pillar area, the smaller the car the more UGLY they look, extra large cars don't look as bad. SO, there you have it, you try and design a car with just some of these 'Design" requirements by law...it is a bloody nightmare. The model is definitely meant to expand the range of the Accord nameplate, Honda's best selling vehicle in the United States. The Crosstour design features a higher seating position for the passengers but also keeps the crossover sitting low on its suspension. The new front grille and the beefy rear end give the car a more toughened look - a feature Honda likely hopes will attract buyers looking for something more sturdy than a regular sedan.

won't touch the A3 in sales, and the hybrid drivetrain means Lexus are likely to price it's "youthful" target audience out of being able to actually afford it.
toyota seem to know what they're doing but sometimes i don't think they think their model lines all the way through... Seems to excite only if you're a Lexus fan. If taken objectively, it will have to be pretty damn good to beat the 1-series coupe, particularly in 135i guise. So far, from what I read it seems like a long shot. Front wheel drive with heavy hybrid powertrain, is not a good start for one, considering that even Lexus' conventional rear wheel drive cars don't match their BMW contemporaries dynamics-wise. I have my doubts. I think Lexus is just trying to make money on this one (that is why they are in business), even though hybrids aren't particularly popular in Europe, but I will reserve judgement until the actual car surfaces.
First-mate, I think you are missing my point. Yes, the desire to make money is obvious as even I want to make as much money as possible. However, making a half-baked product just to fill a gap in the market or milking a platform to the max reeks of bean-counter decision making rather than attempting to making a compelling car. BMW could just as well use a FWD Mini platform to mine the production synergies with MINI/PSA, but they haven't and doesn't look like they will. However, I will be the first to point at BMW examples of stretching the use of a platform (sometimes beyond good taste). I just don't see the BS competing head-to-head with the 1-series. A3 and others, definitely.
The concept car will be shown to the public at the 2009 Frankfurt Motor Show (IAA). It promises to showcase the brand's innovation in design and its technological advances. Lexus is quite confident that the vehicle will raise the bar in the premium compact segment which is currently dominated by cars like the Audi A3, the BMW 1 Series and the Mercedes-Benz A/ B-Class.

Powertrains to be used in the final production models are still up in the air. But hints have been made as to engine direction after it emerged that Lexus had patented the names CT 200h, CT 300h and CT 400h in North America. Only the company's hybrid models are designated with the letter "h" on their badges. This action has led to speculation that the compact car will only employ hybrid technology for its entire range.
