Front looks like an Audi, the C pillar looks like a Infiniti G37, and the trunk and rear remind me of the current Ford Taurus. I would have expected more from Peugot.Makes sense to roll the 407 and 607 into one model, since the latter was such a slow seller in most markets. Of course, the reason it was so invisible was because it was big, bland, and anodyne. Just like the 5 concept... which kind of defeats the point.
Why is it that the French are so consistently unable to produce a full-size sedan with some personality? The Citroen CX was that last one I can remember. Meanwhile, their compacts are some of the neatest, funkiest things on the market. Go figure.. Ze Germans may be known for their efficiency, but try this on for size: French automaker Peugeot is gearing up to replace two sedans with – wait for it – just one! Feigned enthusiasm aside, this is the one that stands to take the job, and it's a pretty sharp looking sedan.
We expect a production version of the 5 by Peugeot to replace both the 407 and 607 within the next couple of years. In the meantime – particularly since Peugeot doesn't market in North America – you can take a closer look in the gallery below.t 5Actually this rear end has been around (pun) in 407 CoupĂ© for a while already, so Taurus should take its butt back to PSA.08, Peugeot508
