Nissan has announced the upcoming release of the NV200 compact van in Japan - a model it later hopes to take globally from then on out.
The NV200 premiered at the Geneva auto show last month and, as a product release, comes in two configurations, one as a commercial van and the other as a windowed people carrier. The Van GX will be the former and the Wagon 16S, the latter.
The NV200 Vanette, which derives its initials from the terribly cryptic phrase "new vehicle", will be a 7-person people carrier with plenty of cabin space. It'll be powered by a 1.6 liter, HR16DE gasoline engine with an unspecified horsepower rating. It promises a low cost of ownership and a good, all round value for money proposition.
It's economical, it's practical, it's inexpensive. In tough times like these, it just may be a winner.
