The Octavia vRS features a redesigned front grille, new headlights (an adaptive xenon lighting system will be optional), new taillights, available 18-inch Neptune alloy wheels, and the latest must have for virtually all European automakers - LED daytime driving lights. Performance changes include a minor reduction in weight, a lowered sports suspension, and several aerodynamic design tweaks which decrease drag for improved acceleration and fuel economy.
Under the hood, potential owners get a choice of either a 2.0-liter TFSI petrol engine with 200 bhp or a fuel efficient 2.0-liter TDI diesel engine that produces 170 bhp. With the petrol engine, the vRS boasts a combined fuel economy rating of 37.7 mpg (combined cycle) and CO2 emissions of 175 g/km. On the other hand, the diesel engine allows the vRS to get a combined fuel economy rating of 49.6 mpg (combined cycle) while emitting 150 g/km of CO2
