The 2009 Azera is a 4-door, 5-passenger family sedan, available in two trims, the GLS and the Limited. I refer to my Azera as my Korean BMW. Its got more interior room than a BMW 5 series. Interior headroom and legroom are excellent. Just turned 61K on the odometer and still on original tires and brakes. I computed overall fuel economy for nearly 3 yrs and am getting just under 23 mpg on a 26 mile daily one way commute that takes nearly an hour. I'll probably buy another Azera when/if this one wears out. Hoping they'll have a hybrid or hydrogen powerplant by then. So far the only problems have been a headlamp and rear license lamps going bad. Both were replaced for free under warranty. Tires are showing wear and road noise is increasing
Uponintroduction, the GLS is equipped with a standard 3.3-liter, V6, 234-horsepower engine that achieves 18-mpg in the city and 26-mpg on the highway. The Limited is equipped with a standard 3.8-liter, V6, 263-horsepower engine that achieves 17-mpg in the city and 26-mpg on the highway. A 5-speed automatic transmission with overdrive is standard on both trims.
