New Mazda CX-7 2009 , I bought my CX-7 in March and it still feels and runs like new. I did install tinted film on the windows because of the harsh Texas sun during the summer months. I compared several vehicles in this category and the thing that made me choose the CX-7 was the value you get for the dollar. Sure, a few other SUV's are rated higher, but they don't offer the same convenience with the exception of maybe the Toyota RAV4. This mi-size SUV/Crossover feels like a car, drives like car and behaves like a car. You will appreciate all the leg room and spaciousness inside. 
The only thing I don't like is the basic sound system, it could be much better. Fuel economy is OK, but it needs improving (this is a turbo-charged engine after all). For all you do-it-yourselfers, you need to remove a whole cover assembly underneath the engine every time you change the oil & filter, so be aware!

A 6-speed automatic transmission with overdrive is standard on both trims.
