The 2010 Mercedes Benz S-Class S550 4MATIC
The 2009 S-Class is a 4-door, 5-passenger luxury sedan, or luxury sports sedan, available in 4 trims, ranging from the S550 to the S600. Without a doubt one of the most amazing cars ever to roll out of a Mercedes dealership. Drives great, extremely comfortable and roomy and performs like a dream. and the 4MATIC is amazing in the snow and I am totally comfortable driving in any weather. I have 2 young kids as well and they are totally comfortably riding in the back for hours and we can take a road trip with no problems whatsoever. Also, plenty of trunk space. The steering can be a little bit wobbly sometimes but for a car that size it drives unbelievably anyways so just a few steering issues is really nothing. The cold weather package is sometimes a pain in the neck to try and sync up all the seats to heat and to get the inside a right temperature but compared to our other cars it's really not so bad! It's also an extremely safe car, although fortunately we haven't had to see that side of it yet. As for the low reliability rating I gave it, we had a few general problems with the car as soon as we hit 40,000 miles, just problems with the engine cooling systems and the air conditioner, but they were under warranty and didn't cost us anything to repair, but it was kind of annoying having a $100,000 car not be 100% working. Anyways, overall it's an unbelievable car and I would recommend it to anybody
Upon introduction, the S550 is equipped with a standard 5.5-liter, V8, 382-horsepower engine that achieves 14-mpg in the city and 22-mpg on the highway. A 7-speed automatic transmission with overdrive is standard. The S600 is equipped with a standard 5.5-liter, V12, 510-horsepower, turbo engine that achieves 11-mpg in the city and 17-mpg on the highway. A 5-speed automatic transmission with overdrive is standard.
Pros
Absolutely everything
Cons
Steering can be a little iffy and the cold weather package is kind of complicated to warm the car up Purchased As New

2010 Mercedes-Benz E-Class E350 Coupe : Review and Specification

The 2010 E-Class is a 2- or 4-door, up to 5-passenger sports coupe, luxury sports coupe, luxury sedan, or luxury sports sedan, available in 5 trims, ranging from the E350 Coupe to the E63 AMG Sedan. The 2010 E -550 in appearance is a cross between a street racer and a luxury car. The technology, is pricey, but why get the car without the toys?
What technology it is. It tells you if your sleepy, or crossing over the lines. It knows if you have a car coming up on your blind spot and warns you. It stops you from crashing! If you insist on crashing, it prepares the seat, steering wheel and car to minimize the damage to you. Knee bags, hip bags, front bags, rear bags, side bags...whew, you have to really work on this to get killed. Then there is the drivers seat! You turn a corner, the seat reached out and hugs you. It then massages your back with rollers all the way to your shoulders, it sets the head rest to the most intuitive setting for you. Wait! Not done yet. The center console mouse was made by a technician, that got tired of the egg heads and made it for the real world. Hurray! No more confusing garbage, Easy, clean, intuitive, did I mention easy?
It has loads of trunk, great extra stuff and a striking new color ( gunmetal gray... kinda of a dark gray with a hint of blue. Not that in ( in your face, gee look at me I am so insecure I need to make a power statement Black). Nope more of a yuppy that aint going away so get use to it kinda gray. One more thing... DAMN it is dead ass, leave them in the dirt FAST!!! No gray head old buzzard Mercedes...it is the type that strangers will walk up and say... with respect " Nice car man"
Upon introduction, the E550 Coupe is equipped with a standard 3.5-liter, V6, 268-horsepower engine that achieves 18-mpg in the city and 26-mpg on the highway. The 2010 GLK-Class is a 4-door, 5-passenger luxury sport-utility, available in one trim only, the GLK350 Upon introduction, the GLK-Class is equipped with a standard 3.5-liter, V6, 268-horsepower engine that achieves 16-mpg in the city and 22-mpg on the highway. A 7-speed automatic transmission with overdrive is standard. The car made it each way on 1 tank of gas which was a nice surprise after reading some negative reviews about gas mileage. I was pleasantly surprised with the Hwy mileage I got on the trip. The car handled like a charm on the curvy I-50 between Sacramento and Tahoe. The only problems with the car has been the bluetooth connection. It took quite awhile to get my LG Shine to connect with the bluetooth in the car and on most occasions I need to turn the phone off and then back on to get the phone to connect to the BT. I took it to the dealer and they told me the car works best with Motorola phones !!! I could be wrong but I thought BT was BT ???? One other issue is when making calls out the cars phone reads connecting for up a minute while you never hear a ringing sound. The person being called says their phone never rang. It seems to work a bit better now that the cars is getting broken in!!!!
I personaly like the GLK-Class of Mercedes-Benz.It's good looking, good motor, small and nippy. I think it was about time Mercedes broaght out a small suv. It's sortof like a C-Class crossover

The 2010 Mercedes-Benz C-Class adds Comfort Suspension for the C300 Luxury. New optional color interiors for C300 Sport and C350 Sport include Grey/Black and Almond/Mocha, and Burl Walnut trim is available. Technological upgrades include an available integrated compass in the rear-view mirror and the optional navigation system includes a larger 40 gigabyte hard drive with more space reserved for music and Zagat Restaurant Survey. A total of eight airbags are standard including new Pelvic airbags for front-seat occupants. Had C 300 sport with manual transmission for 3 weeks and really happy! The looks are great inside and out. Nice solid ride, yet swift and does not feel heavy. The manual shifter is smooth and precise. Acceleration is great overall, except the 1st gear is slightly sluggish unless you really floor the gas pedal. Small turning radius, nice compared to front wheel drive cars I used to have. Outstanding Command system, very intuitive and beautifully displayed. The dashboard controls are very easy to use. The sound system is great (I got the Harman Kardon one, not the basic one). The seats are really comfortable, feel like you have always been sitting in them. The rear seat leg room is considered on the small side, but I basically don't use it and don't fancy large cars anyways. The trunk is on the small side, but then again, this is not a priority for me.

Nuova Opel Astra 2010 Reviews

New Opel Astra: first impressions driving
Published on July 23rd, 2009 by maurizio

The new Opel Astra is presented with a renewed and modern interiors and high quality un'abitabilità to the top of his class. It will be officially presented at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September, but we are already able to provide the first impressions of driving. 4.42 meters long, the new Opel Astra is the car most 'of his long segment. The front is aggressive yet elegant and incorporates the features of stylistic Insignia.

Successful even with the rear spoiler and a significant drop headlights. The engine range includes 7 units, all Euro 5. I start from the petrol 1.4 16V from 1364 cc 90 hp 1.6 turbo up to 179 hp, 1.4 Turbo with 140 horses as a happy medium. The diesel instead depart from 1.3 CDTi 90 horses, common-rail, up to 2.0 CDTi 160 horses, all equipped with particulate filter (FAP). It should also get a version Ecoflex characterized by consumption and CO2 emissions even more 'content.

The gearbox is a manual six-speed transmission, only 1.4 of 90 horses has a broadcast to five reports. The automatic transmission is available on request.

Interior
The interior of the new Opel Astra surprising shapes and quality of coatings. The look is modern, wraparound ed'atmosfera with many lights "night design" of amber color. The dashboard is dominated by the tools "to binoculars that give sportsmanship while the center console features several commands and the big screen integrated browser (if any).

Road behavior
Stable dynamics and the new Opel Astra promises well. The steering is light and precise and the feeling of driving is similar to that of the Insignia, and then by car to a higher category. The good recovery and handling, even on the new adjustable suspension FlexRide that adapt automatically to driving style.

Fiat Punto Classic 2010 : evergreen low cost

Published on July 25th, 2009 by maurizio

Fiat Punto Classic is still the queen of the segment of Low Cost cars that, in times of crisis, you're crowding of new competitors and is having an increasingly high interest. Founded in 1999 and deeply magazine in 2003, the Fiat Punto Classic boasts an outdated engine, but for every need - is available in petrol, diesel, LPG and methane - un'abitabilità still a good price and is able to still meet a wide range of customers.

Available in three or five doors, road Fiat Punto Classic is always handy and predictable, has a soft attitude and is comfortable even in the medium to long journeys. Comoda the "City" steering Dual Drive which makes light the steering wheel in the city.

Of note the limited capacity of the trunk of the version to methane (Natural Power), due to the volume occupied by gas cylinders.

Series of the Punto Classic offers on all versions: disabled passenger airbags, side seat driving and height adjustable steering wheel, compressor operation with the City, to rotate stock.

Prices Fiat Punto Classic:

Mercedes-Benz S 400 Hybrid

Mercedes-Benz S 400 Hybrid
Yeah, pretty good. But to be honest, the only good thing on the Merc is the star on the bonnet. I'd rather buy a Quattroporte or the new XJ. Even the Panamera is more attractive than this. And it's not only more attractive, it also has comfortable seats as James May stated in the last episode of TG. ;-) Mercedes-Benz S 400 HybridTo get a boost in their You are insane dude. The S-Class is 10 times the car a quattroporte is. The Panamera is more attractive than the S-Class?!? I don't even know how to act after that statement. And, the S-Class has one of the best seats ever made. And they are fully adjustable in every direction. green .credentials, Mercedes brought in independent inspectors TÜV Süd to analyze the automaker's processes. The analysts awarded the automaker an environmental certificate denoting green production practices from start to finish, including the ability to recycle much of the car on disposal. Mercedes has also been awarded the certificate in the past for their manufacturing method of the A-, B-, C-, E-, and GLK-Class.
The S 400 features for the first time used in a production vehicle a lithium-ion battery powering the 15 kW (20 hp) electric motor, paired with a 205 kW (279 hp) 3.5 V6 petrol engine. Combined, the system provides up to 385 Nm of torque. This provides a healthy 7.2 second 0-10 km/h time, and a 250 km/h top speed. The hybrid powertrain brings fuel consumption down to as low as 7.9 liters per 100 km, or roughly 30 mpg. CO2 emissions are rated at 186 g per km.

Some of the features on the car include start/stop, a recoverable kinetic energy system, seats lined with wool, and wood trim. Adaptive highbeams, lane assist, night view assist, the Splitview monitor, and the new COMAND system should all be available on this vehicle. Further details are listed in the press release below

I wonder if M-B was "testing" it in all the other markets before bringing it to the U.S.? It seems that we are last to get all of the goodies due to legal red tape, litigation fears and also quality control concerns. I've observed this several times before over the years. This happened when the euro Benzes had ABS and SRS eons before we did. I'm sure this technology isn't terribly cheap either. Better late than never, I guess. want to be efficient, and still stick to Merc get the C180. Want the best green car get the BMW's 118d - World Green Cra of The year. want performance like the C350, yet green and fuel efficient, yet fun to drive for the young and dynamic, get the BMw123d not this C350 Efficient rubbish .For those of us not familiar with the European fuel economy figures, I calculated it to be about 28.3 US MPG. Considering that the car's got near 300 HP and weighs as much as it does, that's very impressive. I sincerely hope MB decides to bring this engine over the pond. For comparison, the regular C 350 averages 21 US MPG, weighs 3615 lbs and has 268 HP.
The new model features the world’s first petrol engine with spray-guided direct injection which improves fuel economy by 10% and provides a 15% increase in power compared to the standard C 350. This adds up to a total of 292 hp and 365 Nm of torque, a 20 hp and 15 Nm improvement over the less advanced engine. In the European driving cycle, the car obtains a rating of 8.3 liters of fuel per 100 kilometers. The increase in power also helps acceleration, as the car takes 6.2 seconds to reach 100 km/h.

With verkniffenem view and large, rectangular chrome grill is the stately, 4.75 meter long wagon its challenges. But even the Honda Accord Tourer-pilot must solve some tasks, he wants his vehicle intuitively. With the steering wheel switches 15 houses, some of which are doubly occupied. But only the Bluetooth handsfree for your mobile phone stubbornly opposed to the voice commands, either in German or English. All other functions need to settle somewhat, but are then easily find again.
Honda Accord Tourer is not as spacious as the predecessor
On the basis of ergonomics, so the seat and steering wheel position, and readability of the speedometer and tachometer, there is little to be suspended anyway. The space on the back seat of the Honda Accord Tourer 2.2 i-DTEC Automatic Executive and specifically the capacity can, however, the very spacious predecessor missing. In the first row on the other hand, you sit on comfortable leather seats (standard in the Executive) width with lush upholstery and firmer. The lateral support is alright, only the upper run a bit short. Attractive and very griffsympathisch was also the selector of the automatic gearbox design.
Five stage automatic in the Honda Accord Tourer 2.2 i-DTEC
A pity that there is no gear lever - in two respects, because the five-stage machine can not totally convincing. The Honda engineers have taken the trouble to the gearbox for its new Euro 5-diesel to develop themselves. The main attention was focused on the efficiency of the drive. So the Japanese decided on a sixth stage and translated in the fifth round, so the 150 horsepower four-cylinder gasoline stingy with the bypasses. This goal was not achieved.
Honda Accord diesel needs 8.2 liters per 100 kilometers
With a test consumption of 8.2 litres/100 km reached the Honda Accord Tourer 2.2 i-DTEC Automatic Executive a value in the competitive environment where the best can get a satisfactory grade. One reason is certainly the most opulent weight of 1.7 tonnes. But precisely for that reason could be an extra gear to help. How often have the kick down switch or the paddles on the steering wheel will endeavor to send the Honda Accord Tourer 2.2 i-DTEC Automatic Executive to bring up to speed. It animates the dynamic chassis even vote for a smooth driving style.
Honda Accord 2.2 i-DTEC is a typical Tourer
His good manners forgets the self-ignition, however, then not. Approaching the speed of the meter needle to the red area, the engine growls a bit reluctant, harassed passengers, but usually only with a subtle murmur. Therefore, the strength of the Honda, but more in the left reeling of many kilometers - touring throughout the flat.

The Chevrolet Express Van 2010 Reviews

The Chevrolet Express is available in half-ton (called 1500) and 1-ton (3500) versions. The 3500 is also available with an extended wheelbase, which allows 15-passenger capacity. Two trim levels, consisting of base LS and luxury LT, are offered. The LS is typically what fleet buyers purchase, so it's a bit plain, with only air-conditioning and a stereo as the key standard features. If this is going to be your family vehicle, the LT, with its rear A/C, full power accessories, cruise control and plusher seats is the better choice. An update for 2008 provided an upgraded cabin as well as standard stability control and side curtain airbags.
Stout powertrains and high tow capacities are some of the Express' chief assets. The 1500 comes with a 5.3-liter V8 (295 horsepower and 335 pound-feet of torque) while the 3500s have a 6.0-liter V8 (300 hp and 360 lb-ft). Both engines come paired to a four-speed automatic transmission. The 3500 features stability control, while the 1500 can be had with all-wheel drive.
As it has for years, the big Chevy should handle whatever folks throw at it. Furthermore, in the two-horse race against the Econoline, the Chevy Express boasts superior driving dynamics and somewhat more modern styling. But before you sign the bottom line, we suggest you also strongly consider the more technologically advanced and more efficient Sprinter

Mercedes Benz CLK 320 Review

Mercedes Benz CLK 320 Review

It fits me like a glove. I am a little too comfortable in it. I like the steering. I love the control of the engine. I love this car. Great stereo, speakers don't shake, the steering is very good, make sure everything is held down in your car before you take a wild turn!! I like the suspension, except it can get a little shaky at times. It is a very good motor. Great styling and all you would expect of a coupe. Mine has 17 inch AMG wheels and sports suspension. This transforms the car from a softie to a much firmer handling car. The engine is strong and smooth. The autobox is a strong point. The tiptronic function is useful and allows greater control. The build quality has been a bit shonky of late, but the CLK seems to have escaped the worst of it. The light switches in the roof are a bit flimsy, though the rest of the car is very solid. The dash is good, and equipment levels are what you pay for. Merc have never been generous with toys. Seats are comfortable. This is really for two front people. The rear seats are useful for short jorneys or small people. It can be a bit claustrophobic as the rear windows are fixed. The boot is huge, and would not disgrace a saloon car. I would recommend this if you want a stylish coupe. If you want a (slightly) better drive then get a BMW. The BM's problem is that it fails the first coupe test. It is basically a 2 door salooon. The CLK is a strong all round performer without being the best in any category. It does the basics right, and great for wafting around town. Mercedes Benz CLK 320 Review
The steering wheel can get a little shaky. When you are used to a luxury sedan, you notice it.
I can't wait to get into my Mercedes Benz CLK 320 car and drive.

The New Mercedes A180 CDI 2010 Reviews and Specs

The New Mercedes A180 CDI 2010 Reviews and Specs

The Mercedes A180 CDI (Manual 6/Diesel) had great performance and handling on the autobahn at a crusing speed of 160/70 km/hr and the car was able to sprint pass an Audi 1.8TT at a brisk 195/200 km/hr; quite suprising. The seats could wear thin on your back and legs after 2.5/3 hrs. of driving and thats about the average 'fatigue time' for most cars or SUVs I've driven. The orientation of the reverse gear (left of gears 1 and 2) takes some focus and mental note taking. If you are not used to a 6 speed gearbox you can mistakingly select a forward gear (gears 4 or 6), because of where a reverse gear would be placed on a 5 speed vehicle. Even though I had some resevations when it came to renting the vehicle (My 1st choice was a Peugeot 407 for 1 week) the A180 CDI turned out to be quite a dynamic vehicle
Good Points
The A180 CDI (Manual 6/Diesel) has great power delivery and a steady power-band, a forgiving clutch, great seat adjustments and easy to fine tune, good front and rear visibility, one command stem allows for easy operation of turn signals and windsheild wipes, etc., good trunk space for the size of the vehicle, great fuel economy and comfortable seating for four average adults.
Bad Points
When the adjustable steering wheel is set in the lowest position the wheel blocks the speed dial from the 60km to the 140km marker, but I will guess that this is relative to the driver's height and driving position. The wing mirrors visibilty takes some time to master.

Engine and drive system
Seven types of motors are available: four petrol (gasoline) (A150, A170, A200, A200Turbo) and three diesel (160CDI, 180CDI, 200CDI), all being four-cylinder and having either 5 or 6 gears. A continuously variable transmission system called "Autotronic Constantly Variable Transmission" (CVT) is an optional feature. The petrol A200 Turbo provides 193 hp and 280 Nm of torque (rotational force); the diesel A200 CDI has 140 hp and 300 Nm.It is estimated that the W169 engines provide a 40% increase in power and a 10% decrease in fuel consumption compared to W168 engines. The most powerful model can take the car from a standstill to 100 km/h in 8.0 seconds, and has a top speed of 227 km/h.

New Mercedes Benz a140 2010 Review

Mercedes-Benz: a perfect balance of automotive intelligence and an enthusiast's passion. Every model is evocative. Provocative. Emotional. And yet, we've given nothing away in terms of security, innovation and value. The only place to revel in the best in driving excitement is behind the wheel of a Mercedes-Benz. Mercedes Benz A Class A140 is a very nice small car. Acceleration is very good and handling is excellent. My car has developed a knocking noise somewhere on the near side. It only sounds when on rough roads not on smooth ones. I recently had it serviced and they found nothing wrong with the car. It is annoying and I would like some one to advice me what could be wrong.
I have tried every thing I can think of, even the spare wheel and the jack!!! As far as I am concerned the car is very good for our use now that we are retired. I would recommend one to anybody.
Engine
The A-Class engines are true athletes – and thrifty too.
